a body loving christmas

It’s hard to imagine right? A body - loving Christmas. December is full of busyness and indulgent parties and isn’t usually the best or easiest time to “look after your body well”.

You’ll be happy to hear that I’m not going to advise you on your eating and drinking habits. I’m all for enjoying these special moments of connection and celebration. But even in the chaos and the tsunami of events and temptations at this time, there’s always something we can do for our body.

So here's my Christmas tips for you:

  1. BE AWARE OF YOURSELF

Use your breath or your Centre (of gravity), just below the navel, to help train

yourself to be more present in your body. Let your practice be to keep your breath flowing

rhythmically OR to keep taking your awareness to your Centre as you walk, talk, sit or

stand. The more present you are in your body the more likely you are to make

wiser choices for your health.

  1. IDENTIFY YOUR GREATEST IMBALANCE

We usually know our worst postural habits. If you don't, then ask someone close to you.

Become familiar with your bad habit and regularly self-correct throughout your day. Every

adjustment you make into better posture is a PLUS.

  1. DEVOTE 5 MINUTES / DAY

Carve out just 5 minutes per day to do a stretch, not your favourite or best stretch but one

which challenges your body. This small daily practice can become the beginning of a much

more substantial and effective home exercise routine which I believe, is GOLD for

contributing to the maintenance of a healthy and mobile body for life.

  1. PRIORITISE YOUR BODY

Always remember that time spent taking care of your body in movement, extra rest and in Nature, not only benefits you but is ESSENTIAL for your wellbeing in life. Don't skip your exercise. Make it a priority to move your body daily or regularly. And tune in to your body's needs.

When you feel a bit tired, just take 10 minutes to rest as soon as you can. Or when you're feeling stressed, go outside and take some slow, deep breaths, preferably near a tree for 10 minutes. ACT on your body's needs SOONER and you will be rewarded with many benefits.

Finally a big thank you to all my clients this year for trusting me with your care. It means a lot to me. I’m so glad to be sharing my message of freedom of movement for life. I'm so glad you're listening and benefiting. And I need you to continue to learn, grow and develop my approach - Karana Posture.

So I appreciate your custom as well as enjoy your company!

I wish you all a healthy, active, happy and enriching festive time with your loved ones.

May those in pain find relief and may you move your body with love and dip it in Nature every day.

    See you in 2025.

    Much love,
